About this artwork
Painting inspired by the episode in which St. Francis of Assisi visited the town of Gubbio and, finding a town terrified by the presence of a wolf, called out to the dangerous animal, “Brother Wolf, in the name of God I command you not to harm me and all men.” And so it did. The tame beast gently approached the saint, who made the sign of the Cross over his mouth. In my work I wanted to explore the coexistence of nature and humanity, trying to capture the emotional essence of two completely different beings finding harmony together. The earthy tones and expressive brushstrokes in oil, work to evoke a sense of peace and reflection. This canvas conveys a message of mutual understanding and acceptance, bringing an energy of calm and introspection into your home.
