A work of art with warm and intense yet earthy colors that enhance the pallor of the suffering figures in the foreground and the bandages. I was inspired by St. Catherine of Siena at the time when she devoted herself to the poor, the imprisoned and particularly to the care of the sick suffering from contagious diseases and abandoned by all. I wanted to explore the depth of human emotions through the technique of expressionism mixed with realism. The centrally placed Saint, wrapped in a mantle, represents compassion and empathy, watching over the two sick people below, trapped in moments of palpable suffering and extreme vulnerability. This composition aims to provoke reflection on humanity and emotional challenges, bringing an energy of deep understanding and acceptance to any environment in which it will be placed.

Paola Imposimato, professional painter from Florence, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, has to her credit in Italy and abroad numerous personal, collective and permanent exhibitions in public and private collections. She has created 120 paintings for Historical Reenactments, called “Palio”, in most of the national territory and carried out many years of collaborations with Haute Couture Houses and Publishing Houses. Her artistic production ranges from portraits to Sacred Art, from wall paintings to those on canvas, panel, wood, leather, ceramics and wax. Many awards have been achieved.
