About this artwork
The one eye that shows the face in the foreground with the only eye visible in the part of the face that is outlined close to the center of the painting, scrutinizes, questions or ideally heads toward an “elsewhere.” It is also done through the seal of a fan of cards that partly hides and divides them, but perhaps largely unites and reveals. The painting is overlooked by a glimpse of the main Florentine church, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, which seems to stand between the two mysterious faces. I poured passion and emotional intensity into my work. Using oil, I explored expressionism and surrealism, interweaving the human figure with metaphysical elements. Through the faces and gazes that emerge, I communicate mystery and reflection, inviting the viewer to personal introspection. This vivid and evocative canvas will bring an energy of deep contemplation into your home.
