About this artwork
In creating this artwork, I poured the vibrations of expressionism and a touch of surrealism, mixing oil to bring to life a scene charged with emotional tension and metaphysical depth. The forms are distorted in the particularly rich, articulate and full-bodied pictorial material, and merge into a journey through human passions and highlighting the inner conflict and struggle with existence. I was inspired by “The Valkyrie ", one of Richard Wagner's most romantic operas, suggesting especially the figure of the female protagonist who, according to Norse mythology, chose who in battle might die or survive, taking a portion of her chosen ones to the warriors’ hall of the afterlife. This canvas will transport the viewer to a world where emotions meet and dance together, bringing a lively and passionate energy to any environment.
