Artwork in which I devised an imaginary portrait of the Sienese painter Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, known as Sodoma (1477 -1549), whose artistic figure constitutes a kind of bridge between the late Renaissance and Mannerism. He was a well-known figure in society, both for his very flamboyant and singular lifestyle and for his love of rich and bizarre clothes, as well as wild and untamed animals. In creating this work, I chose oil for its rich depth and employed styles such as fine art, expressionism, figurative and realism to express a whirlwind of emotions. The brushstrokes are designed to encapsulate introspection and human excellence in the enigmatic relationship with the natural and supernatural. This canvas evokes contemplation and mirrors the complexity of the psyche, enriching each space with a living, thoughtful presence.

Paola Imposimato, professional painter from Florence, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, has to her credit in Italy and abroad numerous personal, collective and permanent exhibitions in public and private collections. She has created 120 paintings for Historical Reenactments, called “Palio”, in most of the national territory and carried out many years of collaborations with Haute Couture Houses and Publishing Houses. Her artistic production ranges from portraits to Sacred Art, from wall paintings to those on canvas, panel, wood, leather, ceramics and wax. Many awards have been achieved.
