Minister in Power 2 is a two-piece series created through transfer and watercolor on wood that explores the relationship between political symbolism, historical memory, and the cycles of power. Inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm and the tradition of commemorative stamps from the last century, the work reflects on how political figures and institutions are transformed into symbols, celebrated, questioned, and eventually reinterpreted by society. The series incorporates a contemporary reference to changes surrounding Mexico’s judicial system and the evolving role of ministers within the country’s judiciary. Through the visual language of official commemorations, the work examines how images of authority are constructed and how political narratives are preserved, challenged, or rewritten over time. Like Orwell’s allegorical fable, where animals mirror human systems of power, Minister in Power 2 invites viewers to consider the parallels between fiction and contemporary reality. By combining archival aesthetics with watercolor and transfer techniques on wood, the series becomes a reflection on governance, representation, and the recurring human patterns found throughout history.

I am a visual artist originally from Mexico City. I have two children and divide my time throughout the year among Barcelona, Philadelphia, and Mexico City. My career as an artist has been characterized by a quest for self-expression and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of my craft. I received my academic training in contemporary art in Munich, Mexico City, and Lyon; over the years, I have participated in various group and solo exhibitions, and I consider my work to be in constant evolution. These experiences have honed my technical skills, and I have deepened my thematic and conceptual understanding, which drive my artistic practice.
