About this artwork
In this piece, I sought to capture time as a presence that unfolds and dissolves within the everyday, revealing a temporal passage that seems suspended in the familiar space of Pantitlán station, an iconic and functional underground crossroads in Mexico City. By depicting a group of cleaning staff in moments of calm, my brushstrokes explore how each instant leaves behind a trace that does not vanish but rather disintegrates and expands in a quantum dance of ascending lines. These figures, some of them duplicated, suggest that with each step and breath of those passing through these spaces, something eternal remains, as if time itself is held between their bodies and the environment. The “evacuation route” sign and the inscriptions on the walls become symbols that transcend their literal function, hinting at an escape toward other realities, a portal where time begins to disintegrate and flow into alternate dimensions. Inspired by quantum superposition concepts, I aimed to depict how each person is more than a fleeting moment: their presence expands, duplicates, and leaves a trace of infinite times and places. The bodies fragmented into lines evoke the perception of a mutable time inhabiting space, suggesting that in every corner of this station lies a network of possibilities and memories in constant reconfiguration. In this way, Pantitlán transforms into a threshold where the ephemeral and the eternal coexist, where each person and element forms an archive of invisible traces that merge and persist. Time here is not a line or a sequence but a constellation of moments, suspended and superimposed within a reality that transcends the fleeting, woven into an intangible mesh of presences and memory.

About the artist
Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
