About this artwork
Under Turner’s Sky A shifting, atmospheric sky inspired by J. M. W. Turner, where light and color dissolve into one another. Beneath it, a lone surfer and his dog create a quiet moment of scale and solitude. Built from hand-painted torn paper, the surface reveals subtle texture and depth, with soft tonal transitions that feel both painterly and immersive. A contemplative work that balances vastness and intimacy—capturing a fleeting, cinematic sense of light. Collage on canvas panel. Varnished with different gloss to create depth and different effects. About the artist
Mixed-media artist. Color lover. Storyteller. Born and raised in South Africa and now living in Cyprus, I hold a degree in Fine Art from the University of the Witwatersrand. I paint in acrylic, pastel, watercolor, pencil, and ink. Canvas and wood often feature but paper is my first love. Working primarily from photos, I often manipulate images digitally to create a new composition and then paint. I’ve exhibited in Cyprus, London, and Athens and my collectors live in countries around the world.
