About this artwork
‘Cher’ is an original painting on A2 (49.8cm x 63.5cm) 300gsm Acid-Free paper. ‘Cher’ is realistic, bold, and highly detailed. A real statement piece for your home. ‘Cher’ is part of the ‘Birds’ series. I have chosen several women, either famous or not, and placed them in front of opulent backgrounds. Inspired by iconic women, it was painted from a known photo. A detailed, bronze background was then added. I wanted to capture the seventies feel of the photograph and chose colours and tones that would emphasize this. It was painted on 300gsm watercolour paper using watercolour, acrylic, pastel, marker and gold leaf. It needs to be matted and framed behind glass.

About the artist
Mixed-media artist. Color lover. Storyteller. Born and raised in South Africa and now living in Cyprus, I hold a degree in Fine Art from the University of the Witwatersrand. I paint in acrylic, pastel, watercolor, pencil, and ink. Canvas and wood often feature but paper is my first love. Working primarily from photos, I often manipulate images digitally to create a new composition and then paint. I’ve exhibited in Cyprus, London, and Athens and my collectors live in countries around the world.
