About this artwork
The Fold Acrylic & pastel on wood panel 30 × 30 cm A body curves inward, arms wrapped across itself, forming a quiet architecture of skin, shadow, and breath. The figure is cropped close, intimate, almost abstract—more landscape than portrait. Against the luminous blue of water, a golden swimsuit blooms with soft dots of light, as if the surface of the pool has settled onto fabric. This work is about containment. About the instinct to gather oneself, to fold inward, to create a small, private refuge inside the body. The pose is protective but not tense. It is tender. The pastel marks soften edges, letting flesh dissolve into water, form into feeling. The figure is both held and holding. The Fold speaks to moments of retreat that are not about hiding, but about restoring. It is the pause between movements, the breath drawn in before release. A meditation on vulnerability, self-soothing, and the quiet geometry of being human. Original, one-of-a-kind artwork. Signed by the artist. Unframed. This painting can be framed with or without glass.
