About this artwork
There is a place we go to when we are deeply moved - by emotion, by longing, by a dream we can’t quite hold. A space where we are physically present, yet feel that we drifted somewhere else. An in-between state, where reality blurs and feelings rule. A place of quiet reflection and peace. Through layers of texture, and grounding tones, I managed to intentionally enter these places which this series explores - the space between familiar and elusive, like a memory just out of reach. Using sand to anchor the in-between feeling in something tangible, a reminder that even when we drift, we are still grounded and connected. Soft and earthy colours blended with delicate roughness of texture will draw you in and allow you to exist in the space between presence and absence. Between Worlds invites you to step into your own liminal spaces, where the heart wanders and time stands still. Each piece is an open door to your own in-between space - where emotions speak louder than words, and the heart remembers what the mind forgets.

About the artist

Vered Brett is an abstract artist living in Cascais, Portugal. Vered’s art explores the depth, complexity and multiple layers of the stories and memories we carry with us throughout life. Her paintings invite the viewer to dive deep into hidden and unknown moments, peel the layers, and embrace self-acceptance and truth. The proximity to the ocean throughout her life is integral to her work and it is reflected in the choice of tools, textures and colours that she borrows from it. She uses water as a main medium to allow free flow of paint, creating soft borderlines and unpredictable marks. Her intuitive process is free from rules and liberating. Vered hopes to inspire viewers to feel fearless, free and vulnerable through her art.
