About this artwork
Mãe with real sand and paint, this piece is part of my latest collection titled ‘Moments we remember’. This and 6 other pieces that reflect on memories and how they shape us. We all have that memorable last time with someone, or visiting somewhere, or doing something we can no longer do. We often don’t know about the last time until after it happens. We can’t prepare or plan for it. So we reminisce, we miss that moment, it makes us want to hold on to it for just a bit longer. This is exactly the reason that being present is so important. Because when we are present, we fully experience that moment and the people around us, and we create strong memories from it. It may be the last time we are laughing with someone we love, or walking on the beach, or painting… We just don’t know. But that last time will always be with you. Live in the now in everything you do. ❤️

About the artist
Vered Brett is an abstract artist living in Cascais, Portugal. Vered’s art explores the depth, complexity and multiple layers of the stories and memories we carry with us throughout life. Her paintings invite the viewer to dive deep into hidden and unknown moments, peel the layers, and embrace self-acceptance and truth. The proximity to the ocean throughout her life is integral to her work and it is reflected in the choice of tools, textures and colours that she borrows from it. She uses water as a main medium to allow free flow of paint, creating soft borderlines and unpredictable marks. Her intuitive process is free from rules and liberating. Vered hopes to inspire viewers to feel fearless, free and vulnerable through her art.
