Estimated Value: $875 Part of my series ‘Let the light in’. Finding hope during challenging times is not easy. In this series, I embarked on a journey back to a time when my world fell apart. A time when I both lost and found hope. These paintings are a collection of those hopeful moments that help you overcome any adversity. Each piece began with a black layer on the canvas. As I’ve navigated through my personal memories, brightness was gradually added. Lighter colours began to partially conceal the darker areas. Transparent layers serve as a reminder of what shapes us. Vered Brett is an abstract artist living in Cascais, Portugal. Vered’s art explores the depth, complexity and multiple layers of the stories and memories we carry with us throughout life. Her paintings invite the viewer to dive deep into hidden and unknown moments, peel the layers, and embrace self-acceptance and truth. The proximity to the ocean throughout her life is integral to her work and it is reflected in the choice of tools, textures and colours that she borrows from it. She uses water as a main medium to allow free flow of paint, creating soft borderlines and unpredictable marks. Her intuitive process is free from rules and liberating.
