About this artwork
A mixed media see-through abstract painting created with acrylic and oil sticks on sheer fabric, paper and hand-stretched on wooden bars. Albert Einstein’s quote: “Black holes are where God divided by zero” captures the enigmatic nature of black holes, as well as their mysterious relationship with the laws of physics. In mathematics, dividing by zero is undefined, as it leads to mathematical contradictions. Einstein's quote metaphorically suggests that black holes represent a point in the universe where the normal rules of physics become incomprehensible. Similarly, the mysteries of our human brain present a metaphorical puzzle for neuroscience and psychology. Just as black holes challenge our understanding of the fundamental laws of physics, the complexity of the human brain presents a metaphorical "singularity" where our current understanding of neuroscience and cognitive science reaches its limits. The artwork is complementary to other abstract paintings from the series “Unrandomly”, delving into our interactions with others and the self, often poorly understood. Despite significant advancements in brain research, there are still many aspects of the brain's structure and function that remain unknown.

About the artist
As a multidisciplinary artist and documentary filmmaker, I’ve always been attracted to the inner landscapes of human beings, exploring themes of cultural hybridity, psychology, and spirituality. Having lived among complex and conflictual worlds, my work reflects diverse cultural influences and a personal exploration of identity, belonging and freedom. My paintings are characterised by bold and vibrant colour choices, employing multiple media and materials, like the diverse fabrics of societies I inhabit. As a result of this identity tapestry, I became interested in the transcendental, and how we can arrive from the material to the immaterial, where perhaps we can find more things in common than the conflictual realities we live in.
