About this artwork
"Born to Not Belong" is a vibrant and exuberant abstract painting that bursts with cheerful energy and warmth. Dominated by shades of pink, orange, and yellow, the canvas is alive with a kaleidoscope of colors that dance and intertwine in joyful harmony. Circular shapes dominate the composition, their playful curves inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of the painting. The circles, with their soft edges and overlapping forms, symbolize unity and interconnectedness, reminding us that even in moments of uncertainty, there is beauty and joy to be found in the bonds we share with others. The vibrant hues of pink, orange, and yellow evoke feelings of warmth, happiness, and optimism, infusing the painting with a sense of hope and positivity. Each brushstroke radiates with energy and vitality, inviting viewers to embrace the exuberance of life and celebrate the unique journey of self-discovery. "Born to Not Belong" challenges conventional notions of belongingness, suggesting that true fulfillment comes not from fitting in, but from embracing one's own individuality and embracing the richness of life's diversity. It is a celebration of the inherent joy and beauty that comes from embracing our differences and finding strength in our shared humanity.

About the artist
As a multidisciplinary artist and documentary filmmaker, I’ve always been attracted to the inner landscapes of human beings, exploring themes of cultural hybridity, psychology, and spirituality. Having lived among complex and conflictual worlds, my work reflects diverse cultural influences and a personal exploration of identity, belonging and freedom. My paintings are characterised by bold and vibrant colour choices, employing multiple media and materials, like the diverse fabrics of societies I inhabit. As a result of this identity tapestry, I became interested in the transcendental, and how we can arrive from the material to the immaterial, where perhaps we can find more things in common than the conflictual realities we live in.
