Daniel, a writer and self-taught visual artist from Toronto, has a deep passion for storytelling, which he expresses through both his writing and artwork. He views his art as an extension of his narrative drive, a different medium to convey stories. Having been a writer since his youth, Daniel believes that visual art is a potent medium for sharing narratives. His artistic endeavors span across various mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, digital illustration, and ink. Daniel's art is predominantly surreal and abstract, often utilizing limited color palettes with striking contrasts. He has a particular affinity for the simplicity and depth of black and white, given that his subjects are usually complex. His main artistic interests lie in exploring faces and the human form, delving into their various facets and expressions. Daniel's artwork is distinguished by its clean line work, the interplay of overlapping images, and the use of repeating elements. His work often brings forth aspects of the subconscious, creating a dreamlike ambiance that bridges the dream world with reality. His art is characterized by its multilayered nature, encouraging viewers to return to it multiple times, each visit offering a new interpretation or discovery. Daniel aims for his art to be a continuous source of engagement and insight, a gift that keeps on giving to its audience.
