About this artwork
Abstract expressionist painting, bold color and patterns, fluorescent highlights, gold and silver glitter. Various mark making techniques were used, including squeegees and spatulas. I used brushes and squeegees about 50/50 when making this one, as well as dripping paint straight from the tube for some of the polka dots. I had to work on the floor and the wall. Carnival Music is named for the rhythm and repetition of stripes and dots, there's something nostalgic to the feeling of this with the bright color and brushy depth. This painting is signed, titled and dated on the back, and will ship in a sturdy protective mailing tube.

About the artist
I'm an abstract painter and sculptor with a focus on creating work that makes an explorative use of color as a backbone to form and subject matter. I experiment frequently and often switch between mediums chasing an impulse to learn, and become immersed in the process. Time seems to stand still when I'm working and I consider the process itself the art, and the artwork a record of what transpired. When I'm not painting or glazing you'll find me sewing overalls, tinkering with a new recipe for my candy shop, or producing a new electronic tune on my mac. My creative pursuits are the foundation of who I am.
