IMPORTANT NOTE: Dimensions of artwork are 91.44 x 96.52 x 3.81 CM 36 x 38 x 1.5 inches "WAR GAMES" is a two-panel artwork. Two canvases are joined together, allowing viewers to see both the front and back simultaneously. On the back panel larger-than-usual toy soldiers are painted to integrate with the landscape depicted on the front, seeming to be underground or a backstory to the narrative. The front canvas depicts a tranquil pastoral landscape – rolling hills, a peaceful meadow, and trees. On the horizon, a faint cityscape is shrouded in smoke and fire. Upon closer inspection, the unfinished part of the foreground reveals faint pencil-drawn soldiers subtly integrated into the scene. The partially torn and rolled-aside painted canvas adds to the feeling of violence and the dark undercurrents that lie beneath the seemingly peaceful facade.
