I was browsing looking for inspiration when I happened to land on a gallery of memorials in an Italian cemetery. This large, beautiful Angel was made from granite and stood atop the grave of a young woman who passed in 1906. Her young husband had it placed there. I was moved by the story and the Angel, and recreated the work in paper as a relief sculpture. The Angel is mounted and floats above the surface of the acrylic painted canvas.
