Bearded Ibex is a multi/level work that came from a bit of a colour risk. I created the focused and determined Ibex on the 3 acrylic painted panels behind it, and for a little while it lived like that. One day, I was prepping the large gallery birch panel behind it and somehow they moved across my vision together as I carried the Ibex across the studio. The strong magenta made the Ibex dramatic and beautiful on the background. It had a presence before, and even more so now. The work isn’t for the passive and it grows on me daily. The Bearded Ibex is made from hand cut watercolour paper. The pieces that make it up have been mounted and raised off the background.
