About this artwork
Tyler II is a made from a single hand cut piece of acrylic painted watercolour paper mounted with archival glue on a stained wooden birch panel. It was created simply as a result of my own love of the design. Tigers are in the family of big cats, and I felt catching this one in a repose really gave it a cat like quality. The strength of the animal is there in the use of the mix of fat colours, yet in gentleness is there in its relaxed gaze. The pieces cut from this work were then used to create Tyger I, also part of my collection here soon.

About the artist
I am a self-taught visual artist, as well as a regularly published fiction writer and multi-optioned screenwriter. I’m grateful to have an international reach in all the arts I practice, as connecting to things and people outside my experience excites me and makes me happy. To me, life is mysterious and spiritual, and when it needs to be spoken of, I think art, any art, is the best language to speak about that mystery. I work with papers, acrylics and mixed medias, often in relief style where my works have the qualities of abstract painting, design, and sculpture all bound dramatically and beautifully together. I think this is the result of a night in Niagara Falls when I was 6 years old. Ask me about that if we meet in person.
