Material Impression is part of a large series of drawings in which I explore the agency of other materials as part of the drawing process. Exploring the method of force, thos work serves as a document of pounding and dragging material across the canvas prior to meticulously shading in the impressions left by the act.

In pointing to the liveliness of objects and their constituent parts, I work to shine a light on socio-political, economic, and environmental entanglements of our daily existence.
