About this artwork
Infernal Desire An exploration of temptation, sensuality, and the magnetic pull between two beings drawn into each other's darkness. In this intimate scene, a woman leans back into the presence of a man standing behind her, her body open and her head tilted upward. His hand rests near her throat as he leans toward her, creating a moment charged with tension, intimacy, and unspoken intention. The contrast between her flowing dark hair, the crimson accents, and the man's composed stance evokes the meeting of surrender and control. The surrounding curtains frame the scene like a private encounter, while the goblets of red liquid add an atmosphere of indulgence and forbidden pleasure. Infernal Desire explores the space where attraction meets power, where the desire to surrender intertwines with the desire to be desired. It is not simply about physical longing, but about the fascination with what draws us toward the forbidden, the intense, and the parts of ourselves we rarely reveal.

About the artist
About Anika Shamanka Anika Shamanka is a self-taught visionary artist whose work emerges from the depths of the unconscious, spiritual exploration, and the hidden dimensions of human existence. Working at the intersection of dark surrealism, symbolism, and the mystical, she creates original artworks shaped by inner visions, personal transformation, and encounters with the unseen. Her imagery explores duality, shadow, identity, sovereignty, and the mysteries that lie beneath the surface of ordinary perception. With a background in psychology and dance, Anika's artistic expression is inseparable from her exploration of the human psyche, embodied experience, and the transformative power of confronting one's own darkness. Her art is an intuitive process, guided by spontaneous imagery and the symbolic language of the unconscious. Rather than following conventional artistic formulas, she allows each work to emerge organically, giving form to what often remains hidden, unspoken, or beyond rational understanding. For Anika, art is not merely decoration. It is a language of the soul — a meeting point between the visible and invisible worlds, where darkness becomes a source of revelation and transformation. Each piece is an original expression of her inner landscape: raw, symbolic, and deeply personal.
