About this artwork
16 x 20 inches. Oil and oil pastel on canvas. Part of the LA Series. Inspired by a photo taken by my brother visiting Venice Beach (skate park) from Japan. I rarely communicate with him so wanted to mark the moment - him sending me a tourist photo and reminding me he is still family.

About the artist
Painter and dwriter (draw & writer), now based in Fukuoka, Japan. I’m passionate about art as a way of connecting—both with oneself and with others. I believe there’s no hierarchy among art forms. My practice ranges from oil paintings on linen to single-panel cartoons on index cards, and inclusive, all-ages art workshops. More to come.
