Shizuka Kusayanagi's Perspective

Artist's commentary

A little shack or a tool shed was calling me on a walk up a street now packed with newly built and renovated fancy houses on Armstrong Avenue in Silverlake (Los Angeles). It felt like it was stuck in time and has seen many years of changing weathers, colors of the sky, plants and dirt formations, and passersby. There was something magical about this humble little wood shack that I wanted to portray it.
