60x48 inches. Oil on canvas. Known as Standing Rock, this B.C. Landmark along Highway 3 in Similkameen First Nations land has been bearing the marks of humans for millennia. This rock has significant cultural importance to the Similkameen People and was once adorned with ancient pictographs, now long covered up by a palimpsest of graffiti. I have been driving by this rock for decades and it always feels like seeing an old friend.
