The works are an abstract exploration of textures, composition and color that seek to combine newfound processes into a unique aesthetic. The term "chrysalis" is the gestative period of an insect before it emerges reborn into a brand new form.

Making this piece, and by extension the other pieces of this series because I had never seriously dived into abstraction before this. I come from a figurative oil painting background and this was quite a challenge for me as it pushed me to explore entirely new ways to paint.
