About this artwork
Set in the heart of Abeokuta, this painting is a sequel to first Afrikan Giant — but this time through the presence of a young girl standing barefoot but grounded in her truth. Holding tightly to her faith, she emerges as a quiet force of unlooked resilience amidst an environment shaped by struggle, transition, and history. Through her, this artwork becomes a tribute to the overlooked strength, vulnerability, and power of young girls navigating turbulent systems at the edge of extinction with a little more than hope/will which often goes unseen but never unfelt.
