About this artwork
Estimated Value: $2,800 to $3,360 Photograph, Pigment Print. Image Size: 28x34cm, Edition 01 of 01. Best known for Apollonia Müller's exceptional photographic investigation of urban landscapes in Los Angeles, here Apollonia offers an exceptional photograph that has never been published or exhibited. HOL is offering a unique perspective on the city's iconic landscape. This photograph presents a background view that subverts the traditional glamour often associated with Los Angeles, revealing a more nuanced and atmospheric side of the city. The image showcases a rare meteorological phenomenon: mist rolling over the urban sprawl. Such weather conditions are exceptionally uncommon in Los Angeles, occurring only a few times a year. Apollonia's keen eye and patience in capturing this fleeting moment underscore her dedication to revealing the city's hidden facets. The misty veil over the cityscape creates a sense of mystery and otherworldliness, challenging viewers' preconceptions of the usually sun-drenched metropolis. This photograph exemplifies Apollonia's signature style of capturing Los Angeles in its most enigmatic and visually striking moments, offering a fresh perspective on a city often defined by its relentless sunshine and Hollywood glamour.
