About this artwork
I don’t think anyone in 2025 will be scared by it now, right? This work explores the concept of quantum entanglement as a metaphor for human relationships within society. In quantum physics, entangled particles remain intrinsically linked, regardless of distance. Any measurement of one particle instantly affects the other, altering the system as a whole. Similarly, individuals in a social structure exist within an interconnected network—constantly observing and reacting to each other, yet often devoid of true emotional connection. The repeated faces in the composition symbolize individuals in society. They are positioned in a way that suggests surveillance, observation, and passive interaction rather than genuine engagement. The majority remain indifferent—watching, following, yet emotionally detached. However, two figures stand apart. Unlike the others, they do not engage in the silent, collective gaze. Their expressions convey emotions distinct from the rest, marking them as anomalies within the system. This deviation mirrors the quantum principle: an observation alters the entire entangled state. The piece draws inspiration from both scientific principles and psychological narratives, notably referencing Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” and the eerie presence of the Grady twins. The monochromatic palette, contrasted with stark red, enhances the unsettling atmosphere, reinforcing themes of isolation, conformity, and unseen influence.
