About this artwork
Oil painting with collage elements. The foundation in the form of a collage was laid in 2022 in the month of June in Dubai, it was a point of fear due to the fact that what was happening in the world was acquiring a bloody and noisy effect. (remember the city Bucha, Ukraine) we fled from the war to Dubai. Yes. in December 2022, my daughter and I had to return to Ukraine. the canvas was removed from the stretcher and folded into a suitcase. in February 2023 we moved to Norway. in March, I decided to continue this work; the fuel for continuation was Palestine and the Crocus Hall in Moscow. I'm deeply sorry. I am deeply sorry that betrayal has to be experienced on such a scale. I love you people with all my heart. You are monumentally, totally beautiful through and in all diagonals. The eye was woven from clippings of the magazine national geography it contains sacrifices, blood, murders, diseases, completed in prisons, sea, mountains, wind, straw, trees and fire. “The Answer to the Great Question... Of Life, the Universe and Everything... Is... Forty-two,' said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.” - Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy instagram: iRA_inKING facebook: Ira Shyshkina Next canvas you will see in sometime because I need the time. About the artist
“Ira Shishkina is a Ukrainian artist whose work delves into the depths of human emotion, identity, and the philosophical aspects of existence. Known for her powerful and introspective portraiture, Shishkina's paintings are more than just images-they are explorations of the inner world and human psyche. Her work speaks to those who appreciate art that raises questions about who we are and the complexities that shape our inner lives. Shishkina's portraits often feature subjects in reflective, almost contemplative poses, capturing moments of deep thought or emotional intensity. She frequently incorporates surreal and symbolic elements, using them to suggest themes of self-discovery, existential conflict, and the passage of time. Each piece invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and consider the nuances and hidden layers within. Her color palette, rich with contrast and often leaning toward darker, dramatic tones, heightens the emotional weight of her work, creating an atmosphere that draws viewers in. In her process, Shishkina masterfully combines realism with hints of abstraction, blending precise details with expressive brushwork. This approach lends her paintings a unique texture and depth, allowing her to convey subtle emotions and ideas that resonate on a personal and universal level. Through her portraits, she examines the challenges, doubts, and beauty within the human experience, making her art both intellectually engaging and visually compelling. Ira Shishkina's art has gained a dedicated following, particularly among those who seek art that challenges the viewer to engage on a philosophical level. Her work speaks to the heart and mind, reflecting her passion for exploring the unseen dimensions of human existence”. - ChatGPT
