"Omoide" is an oil painting on canvas with gold leaf and acrylic paste, cm 100x80. It is second in a series of 5 paintings titled "Japan in Gold". The series is dedicated to Japanese woman. The contrast between gold and urban textured elements in the paintings represent the coexistance of modernity and ancient traditions in Japan. The kimono is made of gold leaf while the urban background is textured in acrylic paste. Omoide means souvenir in Japanese. The painting was displayed with the other ones in this series in a solo exhibition at Consulate of Japan in Milan. Edges are painted and the painting is ready to hang.
