About this artwork
This bold work from my Deliquesce Series was executed in acrylic on stable, acid-free paper and framed tastefully with a white double mat and simple black frame. This figurative work was created during the Covid-19 Pandemic, during one of the many periods of isolation we all suffered. Like the other Deliquesce works, this image uses drips to convey the draining sensation I feel when overwhelmed. This work in particular was created when the fatigue of our collective struggle was heaviest. The dark blues in the backgound weigh on the figure's back, while the vibrant violet and white in the upper right hint at a brighter future beyond these dark times.

About the artist
I am a painter who studied Art, History of Art and Chemistry at UC Berkeley, and obtained my Masters in Art Conservation from Queens University. My work in museums around the world - including SFMOMA and the National Gallery of Art in Washington - informs my painting practice, and drives me to work in both traditional and non-traditional media and methods. I am from California, but have lived and worked in France, Toronto and Hong Kong. I currently call Vancouver, Canada my home, and when I'm not in my studio, I can be found in the mountains or in the sea.
