About the artist
Raised on ring psychology, street poetry, and the pressure points of the city, New Terry doesn’t just talk about struggle, he engineers spaces to decompress from it. As the founder of the Black Market Social Club, he curates 420-friendly cooking sessions, therapeutic art fellowships, and neighborhood service runs that put food, warmth, and dignity directly into people’s hands. The program is less about fixing people and more about giving them room to breathe, rebuild, and belong. He is also the mind behind DNT B A Dummy, a Baltimore-rooted lifestyle concept that flips local slang into a philosophy of self-awareness, critical thinking, and pushing past emotional autopilot. Through fashion, pop-ups, workshops, and collaborations with the Gallery About Nothing, the movement challenges the city’s narratives while honoring its scars. Whether he’s behind a mic breaking down a wrestling storyline, hosting a puff-and-paint therapy night, or passing out meals across West Baltimore, New Terry moves like a walking kaleidoscope of art, advocacy, and culture, proof that creativity can be a form of care and community is the real main event.
