Clare McIntyre's Perspective

Artist's commentary

This piece was painted from a photo I took of a small pond in an incredibe tropical botanical garden in Barbados. The lotus flower is sacred in Buddhism. I tried to capture the boundlessness of nature in this painting, showing both what can be seen under the surface of the water and the reflection of the sky and clouds above. The choice of the round panel is also representative of the continuum of nature.
