Shane Smith's Perspective
Artist's commentary
This painting is about the contradiction between the mind and body of man; His mind mind is free to ponder truths beyond space and time. Yet his body lies, within these bounds. In the flesh, he is prisoner of ages. He is woven with the webs of relation. The weaver knows him well. He wears a suit, and is plagued by his nakedness. He escapes himself only to discover himself.

[Ecclesiastes 3:10 - 11} I have seen the burden God has given humanity to keep us occupied. He has made everything suited to its time; also, he has given human beings an awareness of eternity; but in such a way that they can't fully comprehend, from beginning to end, the things God does.
