Shane Smith's Perspective
This artwork comments on
[Psalm 19:1-2} The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. [Psalm 8:3-4} When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in their places; what is man that you are mindful of him?
Artist's commentary
In moments of vulnerability and selfless wonder, we recieve enlightenment. By reason of darkness, or lack of understanding, we cannot perceive the error of our ways; nor comprehend the reason for our sufferings. As we acknowledge our creator, we thereby acknowledge our shortcomings. And in this posture of humility & due reverence, we are granted insight, clarity, revelation of truth, and discernment. Fear and doubt dissolve in the light of understanding. Suddenly there is a window of hope.
