About this artwork
This figurative painting captures an everyday scene in the challenging neighborhoods of Naples. The city is personified as a boy in sneakers and a Napoli soccer team shirt, being apprehended by two carabinieri. The artwork critiques the biases often held against Naples, highlighting that this city by Mount Vesuvius is not merely dominated by criminal organizations, but is also steeped in history and culture. Naples is brimming with honest, affectionate, generous, and loyal people. Regrettably, it is frequently portrayed in a negative light, as depicted in this painting. The artist does not intend to undermine the efforts of the police but rather to emphasize their crucial role in eradicating the negative elements in one of the world's most beautiful cities.
