About this artwork
An eye-catching and intense artwork featuring the Trinacria—a head with three legs spinning clockwise and serpents for hair. This emblem of Sicily is tied to the Gorgons, Euriale, Steno, and Medusa, three fearsome beings from Greek mythology. The three legs signify the island's geographical outline with its three promontories. The bold red background forms a sharp contrast with the green of the poisonous snakes. The golden wreath of leaves lends a shimmering, regal elegance. The expressive turquoise eyes of the woman's head gleam with a captivating intensity. The square-format artwork is handsomely framed in a black wooden frame.
