This painting offers an aerial perspective of a richly textured landscape, where the bright sun glints off the sea, illuminating the hills, mountains, and coastline. The scenery tells a vivid story of transformation, showcasing old plantations reborn and modern architecture seamlessly integrated into the landscape. The intricate details and patterns reflect the idea that the land, much like our DNA, is a tapestry of history and identity. As with many of my works, this piece subtly acknowledges the unmarked and forgotten graves, honoring the lives that once shaped this land. The layers of history and memory embedded in the landscape invite viewers to contemplate the continuous interplay between the past and the present.
