I enjoy painting landscapes that explore themes of heritage, belonging, and growth. My perspective delves into how we connect with our ancestors through textiles, patterns, food, and sounds that tell our story. The intricate patterns in my work represent the paths and routes traveled, whether willingly or by force. The vibrant colors scream and shout, reflecting the intense heat of the Caribbean, where my ancestors come from. Each brushstroke speaks in color, conveying the richness and complexity of Caribbean heritage and the enduring connections that bind us across generations.
