Heavy clouds loom, their shadows stretch and sprawl, In an unknown city, I heed destiny's call. The past lingers close, no place to hide, Can I glimpse the future, with doubts cast aside? Within my heart, a glimmer, fierce and bold, Can it conquer the darkness, make my story unfold? I don't know, I don't know, the journey's terrain, Obstacles and opportunities, like the shifting tide, remain. I'm a boat adrift on life's endless sea, Searching for a guide, a light to set me free. The light beckons me in moments of despair, Yet darkness persists, testing my strength, my flair. But I'll persevere, for this quest is mine, To find where I belong, to rest my spirit on the shrine. I'll search within, explore far and wide, Seeking the place where my soul can confide. Will it be found in this city, so new and unknown? Will the path become clear, like a path freshly sown? The answer evades, like stars that softly align.

I am a Chinese artist who currently works in New York. I received my BFA in 2018 from Boston University and my MFA in painting and drawing in 2021 from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My paintings blur the categories of figuration and abstraction. Within them, I utilize themes of pattern, space, and light in relation to the human body to discuss and critique the constructions of systems of belief. Being an artist with a multi-cultural background, I have insight into the many ways people have used and abused culture and history to create barriers and divisions within the broader spectrum of humanity. Within my paintings, I addresse the feelings of being oppressed by those barriers and divisions while looking for places that could transcend both culture and history. I have shown at the Sloan House in Boston, Guayaba Gallery in Union City, Visionary Project in New York, Research House of Asian Art and FLXST Contemporary Art Gallery in Chicago, etc.
