Versioning Series This painting is part of a series that reinterprets how we filter, edit and curate ourselves online onto the canvas.  By working with versioned silhouettes, each piece creates a conceptual parallel between our constantly evolving digital platforms and our construction of identity on them. The result is a series of paintings that embrace authorship in designing our identity online and off.

In John Holland's work, abstract forms expand into a composition that's continually updating – the end of one piece is the beginning of something new. This dialogue mirrors digital media's evolving tools, shaping an abstract language conditioned by the digital age. John lives and works in Toronto, Canada. He obtained his MFA from Parsons School of Design and BFA from OCAD University. He has been featured in solo and group exhibitions at commercial galleries in Toronto and New York, including Winston Wächter Fine Art and Angell Gallery.
