About this artwork
„Someone looks at us with care, while to someone else, we’re nothing more than a toy.” At the heart of the painting, LED strips are embedded, bringing light to life within the artwork. This gives the piece two personalities: one when the lights are off, showing a female figure gazing with concern at a sailing ship. When the lights are on, it reveals a mermaid for whom the ship is nothing more than a toy. The artwork is crafted on burlap. I have used plaster, acrylics, oil paints, and metallic paint. Inside the piece are LED strips, a transformer, and a dimmer to adjust the light’s intensity.

About the artist
For the last 15 years I have been doing artistic workshops, being careful not to disturb the individuality of the student - Together we open the door to the world of art more widely. This contact with art through workshops is a wonderful experience for every person. It changes the perception of the entire reality that surrounds us. An ordinary sofa turns into a color framed by the line of the back. And looking at the original painting, we see a trace of the brush and it looks like the artist was here a while ago, and it doesn't matter that 100 years have passed...
