About this artwork
This painting is an amalgamation of experiences, culture, and objects that represent my adolescent experience. Skateboard brands, video games, and Canadian hip hop icons collide with symbols of my Japanese heritage. It’s an art colouration of Japanese Cnadian identity and how one retains their cultural heritage while engaging with the dominant culture in which they live.
