In this painting statues and there place in public space is being examined. Under influence of the destruction and vandalizing of historical statues over time and more recently I have started to also paint statues found in museums and alter them in paint anyway I see fit. River is one of the ones that is based on a Roman copy of a Greek statue. This removal from the original source intrigues me.
