The Paisley - buta (bud or leaf) in Urdu & Punjabi - is a motif often used in garments and embroidery throughout the South Asia. I see this in my traditional clothes and engravings and wanted to create my interpretation of the beautiful shape. I collect Indian wooden block prints of this shape for inspiration and my gelli mono prints.
