About this artwork
This beautiful painting has a sense of humor, and a secret. This bears secret name is Petunia and she is wondering why life always seems so busy. She is also grateful she took some time to take this beautiful relaxing dip. She promises to spend more time on self care. Can you relate? Petunia wants you to take better care of you too. This mixed media painting is painted on gallery wrapped canvas, starting with acrylics, real pressed flowers from my garden are collaged into the piece and then finally it was finished with oil paints. These multiple layers gives this piece depth and a brilliant energy.

About the artist

Welcome to wonderland. Hope is a powerful force, and it can be found within a painting. My paintings are inspired by the natural wonders around us, sharing the beauty and joy I experience in nature. In our busy lives, we often overlook the subtle magic of the natural world. Through my work, I aim to express this beauty from a joyful perspective, inviting viewers to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters. My art serves as a reminder of life’s wonders and to give hope. For 20 years, I set aside my passion for art to pursue what I believed was more important, but it left me feeling like something was missing. Eight years ago, I picked up a paintbrush once again, and I haven’t looked back since. Art calls to me, and I hope to share this joyful experience with you. I love living in the Okanagan Valley. I grew up here and I’m inspired to paint the natural wonders I see in landscapes, flowers and animals. I’m a member of The Federation of Canadian Artists, The Okanagan Artists of Canada and The Vernon Chamber of Commerce. I have paintings currently on display in Vernon at my studio in Gallery Vertigo, The Vibe, Okanagan Gift Co in The Village Green Mall, Evolve Studio Silver Star Mountain, Friesens Country Time Gardens, Apple Valley Automotive, and previously at the Vernon Arts Center, The Armstrong Art Gallery, Creative Chaos, and The Okanagan Artisan Show. I will create for as long as I live, embarking on a journey into the realm of possibility. Join me in a world where imagination becomes reality—each painting is the beginning of a story waiting to unfold.
