'Natural Tussle ' could be said to be semi abstract, if not an outright abstract, nevertheless, it was conceived through psychic automation. The painting was initiated from the blue colours, which slowly formed like crests and troughs of the forming wave like formations. In this case, it was the colours that inspired me first, taken over with the spontaneity in pattern. This is usually how these kind of paintings happen to be, taking form with different strokes, leading to other spontaneities or choices. At this stage, the imagery generated an energetic feeling to it, even more so by deliberately adding the contrasting yellow. It gained a fire and water, or to and fro effect with lots of motion. This is despite that the heat seems stationary, while the blue looks turbulent. The work was painted with an acrylic based mixed media on a gallery wrapped stretched canvas, which is painted neatly on all four sides in a light, slightly green khaki colour. It does not require any framing and can be hanged on the wall as it is.
Jason Zahra's Perspective
Living with this artwork is like
Like with most things in life, this painting depicts spontaneity, energy and flow. There is always contrast and whilst the good side is needed, the not so good can can keep one real. That reality may help one appreciate things more and live better.
