In my vibrant creation, I infused the canvas with the fiery hues of passion and freedom - a woman’s figure suspended in a moment of reckless abandon. The fluidity of acrylic and spray paint embodies a dance between the raw energy of expressionism and the allure of pop art. It’s a celebration of bold individuality, meant to invigorate any space with its dynamic spirit and splash of audacity. I work from found and created photographs and film stills. At first glance I was immediately taken by this image - this is a fun-filled piece, giving a wonderful sense of floating up to the surface to the light… the joy of doing this in a bikini and heels, the colour and light filtered through the water… it represented elation, freedom and importantly renewal to me.
Kerry Inkster's Perspective
Living with this artwork is like
Waking up to a youthful summer holiday - warm sunshine, lapping waves, freedom, cocktails and a cool blue bikini. It lights up any room and is one of my fav’s.
Don't hate this artwork if it
Doesn’t have the “right” colored frame - frames can be tricky! Choose it because you love the painting itself - you could get it reframed or I can paint it any color as long as it relates to the colors actually in the painting. Or you could repaint it yourself!
A random fact I love is
You can see some of the background colors come through the slightly transparent spray paint making up the form of the arms and legs. And I love the fact that her outreaching hand disappears into the light, just like it would if you were to hold your hand up to the sun.

Freedom!!
I take pride in
The fact that this painting was painted over one of my older artworks - I have also covered the surface of the old painting with Japanese Rice Paper - so the surface of the painting is textural and adds to the sensation of movement in the water. The frame is also made of recycled floor boards - and remember it could be painted in any color to suit your desires!
